Boys weekend extravaganza

Ty took the boys to watch the Utah/Notre Dame game. The boys counted down from months to weeks to days for this trip. The excitement level was off the charts. They also met Uncle Jeff, uncle Dirk and Papa Hugh there. Even though they went to support the Utes, we all own Notre Dame gear now. Ty and Jeff had way too much fun in the book store.

It was pretty chilly at the game (we are from AZ) and started to rain so the poncho's were needed, notice how mad Jackson is that his Utah gear is covered with Notre Dame. Jeff on the other hand was cheering for the Irish and more than happy to sport the blue and gold colors.

They might have barely made their flight out of Chicago, but at least they got to see the overlook at Willis/Sears Tower.

Here is another one of our favorite teams, Ty and his brothers had season tickets. Ella was very happy to make the cut this year to attend the games. The boys really shouldn't have all the fun.

Jackson finished an undefeated season with his Gilbert Dawgs team, and Davis loved playing flag with a team made from all the boys in the neighborhood. Yes, football did dominate our fall.

Now the real dominant sport of the Church house has begun, Basketball!! Ty is coaching both teams ( I know with what free time?) he gets really good assistant coaches.

Wow, my blogging has really dropped off the face of the earth. Life is just crazy and fun.

My week involves a lot of football (which is slowly fading into basketball), little girls going to dance and gymnastics. Then we have those activities that we do because one day our children will appreciate it..... I think....like piano.

But today I have a new ONE year old.

I cannot even say how much I LOVE this baby girl!

Tessa:

laughs when you read her books and anything else really

loves outside

has many arms willing to hold her

will climb anything

and my favorite is how cuddly she is.

If birthday cake wasn't enough sugar for this little girl the next day all the kids came home with bags full of Trick or Treating.

the lady bug not loving picture time, but then comes the binky....awww much better!

Whenever a new school year starts I always feel like my kids just grew up over night.

side note: Avery picks out all her own outfits, shoes, socks and accessories. That girl has a style all her own.

My baby girl is always on the move now. She loves to climb the stairs. I know a gate would really help and probably be safer, I just keep saying I should get one of those and then it ends with the thought. Doesn't it take a tumble or two to really learn anyway? Don't worry we always catch her. :)

D man is 7!

What better way to celebrate than a ginormous water slide in your backyard.
The best part is I didn't do any entertaining and the party stayed in the backyard, not the easiest thing to do in AZ in the middle of July.

I just had to throw in the picture of our BRAVE Avery. 18 ft water slide is pretty big for a 2 yr. old. She went down it over and over again. This girl is seriously CRAZY!

Malone's Manhood

I can't believe I am making a post about our dog. I guess he has found a small spot on my heart.
Lately he is loving the pool. The second he sees the kids walk out the back door with suits on, he makes a run for the pool gate. He will hang out on the shallow step or the water fall where the kids jump off. Pretty fun to watch! There is just one problem, he can't really swim. I actually had to jump in for him once. Then Ty came home with a doggie life jacket. Who knew they had those?




Warning! the next part of the post is not for people with weak stomachs.

It was time to neuter Malone. Ty and his brother Whit (a cardiology vet) decided this is something they could do together. I guess Ty thought anesthesia couldn't be that different on animals. They also brought along their oldest sons to be surgical assistants and to get an early anatomy lesson.

maybe this is not the norm for brotherly bonding, but these brothers had so much fun hanging out talking and doing medicine together.




I'm glad to report that Malone came out of this great, just minus a little manhood.

Pied Piper

When Ty brings out the guitar the kids can't resist coming to listen. Even the ones that are really mommy attached. Can you believe she is standing like this already? Because I can't.

Shower for Traci

My baby sister is having a baby......very soon too! So we showered her with some gifts.

He had such a great year with a great teacher.

With the temps on the rise we can now be found in the pool...a lot!

You gotta love summer

Who's the favorite parent? Not me.

The boys were playing ball outside when Ty got home. He went upstairs to change then came down wearing his old Utah uniform. He walked past me in the kitchen like this was normal attire. He then went outside to play with the boys. They LOVED it. Of course I just ran to get my camera, because I wasn't going to miss Ty playing dress up.

The boys didn't dress up, this is what they always wear, I'm totally serious. Headbands, wristbands, jersey's are everyday attire at the Church house.

There is nothing these boys would rather do then play with their Dad.

While we are on the topic of playing with their Dad, it happens to be the girls favorite thing as well.
Avery has made up a game (all on her own I might add) it's called "the honey game" and only Ty is invited to play.

Let me define this for you. Ty comes home from being on call, around a 24 hour shift. He is dead tired. Avery hears the garage door open. She runs as fast as she can saying "daddy home, daddy home." (actually they all go running to see daddy home)

Then in a sweet 2 yr. old voice she says "daddy wan a play the honey game wit me?" Ty agrees.
They proceed down hall to the toy room where Avery points to a place for Ty to lay down. She then cover him with blankets and starts placing toys all around him, while bringing him play food.

She then says things like "I the mom you the honey" "honey you wan some dinner?" "you wan mac n cheese or nuggets?" "honey do not get out of bed or you go to a time out!" "honey you tired" "honey go to sleep" "honey wake up."

He wasn't waking up in this picture, more like out cold.

After watching this happen on different occasions, I just had to have a picture of it. I don't want to ever forget "The honey game"
It's such a sweet game that's just Avery's and Dad's.
