Quiet Time

Every Sunday growing up we had "quiet time." It wasn't a bad thing, just time for everyone to chill out on their beds and do a quiet activity. We had a options, we could write in our journal, which was always my favorite, read a church magazine, scriptures, maybe just take a nap. It was part of life at the Driggs house.

Well today the Church family has decided to carry on this tradition. The kids seemed to take to the idea pretty well. I can now see the brillance my parents had instilling this, it's very enjoyable! Here is the first of many Sundays at the Church house with "quiet time."

Then there is me obviously not being as productive, but with great plans for this new quiet time in my life. I have some scripture reading goals for the summer given to me just today at church. But before I begin I just had to capture this little fam that I love so much, especially when they are all so quiet.

Girls Weekend

I was pretty lucky to have really amazing roommates in college. We became the best of friends in the small town of Rexburg ID. This last weekend we met up in Vegas for a little reunion. We picked up as if we were still just students at Ricks College (except we were in Vegas :) It was such a relaxing weekend. Going to fun places to eat, seeing a show, laying by the pool and of course staying up late playing Hokie five.




Ty was off all weekend (doesn't happen often) so he got some great one on one time with the kids. I knew he would be fine, but I have to admit I kinda wanted him to struggle just a little. Is that bad? Anyway he did no such thing , instead he was a super dad. He took 4 kids to a swim meet early Saturday morning, which he video taped for me. Hit the ward swim party later that day. Got to 8am church 10 min early, the kids thought it was great to sit on a padded bench, they only know metal chairs in the overflow. Then he finished out by making HOMEMADE cookies! SERIOUSLY that is getting a little out of control!

First Swim Meet

Can I just say I really love the smell of chlorine and the sounds of a swim meet. Saturday was Jackson and Davis' first swim meet. I was pretty proud of them. It brought back so many memories. Growing up swimming was such a big part of my life. So now I just can't help but have fun watching my own kids test out the waters of swim team. I mean check out how cute they look in those little swim team suits.

It's a good thing the speedo style has changed since my day, I'm not sure what Ty would say if his boys had to wear old school speedo's. :)
