Ten Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed

Well it was actually two little boys jumping on the bed,but that nursery rhyme sums up our evening yesterday. As bed time came we sent the kids upstairs to get pajamas on and brush teeth. As many little boys do, our's got distracted from the task at hand. They started practicing for the Olympic gymnastic team by flying from one bed to the other. As the story goes, "one fell off and broke his head, mamma called the doctor and the doctor said no more monkeys jumping on the bed"
In our case, Davis fell off the bed and split his head and mamma called Dr. Dad.
Ty was able to just stitch him up on the kitchen table. It's moments like this that I can't complain about the long years of school and residency and the too many nights spent alone, because Ty just saved me a painful night in the ER. Davis was a champ, well I guess he should be since it's the second time his Dad has had to stitch up his head. Maybe he just has the type of head that attracts hard objects.

Tri in the Pines by Ty Church

Tiffany did a triathlon last weekend in Show Low, Arizona. On our way to the event the kids were asking if mommy was going to "win". We took some time explaining that she is only competing against herself and trying to do HER best. My talk was starting to sink in when from the backseat of the van I here Davis chime in with the following quote:

"It's not about winning, it's about losing AND winning."

As Davis so eloquently put it, in life there are winners and losers. Tiffany is definitely a winner! In my opinion she dominated the triathlon. She took 9th overall in her age group, 7th in the run, and of course with her swimming background 4th in the swim. She also has a knack for making strenuous exercise look GOOD! Congratulations Tiffany!..................(when is the next one?)

My Little Princess /Ballerina

I have the sweetest little girl (okay unless her brothers are teasing her) who loves anything to do with princesses. She recently added dance to one of her many loves. She might have watched SYTYCD with her mom one too many times. So of course she has just started taking her first dance class. She can now be found wearing her new leotard anytime of the day or night. (she wears it over her pajamas)
Our little Ella has turned another year older. I don't know what we would do without our Ella. She is such a fun part of our family. She is daddy's little girl and mommy's big helper.
Happy Birthday Ella. We love you!!!!

Back to School

I can't believe it, Jackson started 2nd grade today, Ahhhhh why must they grow so fast! Don't worry I didn't cry this time. But I did feel so sad when I drove away from the school knowing that it was the beginning of long days without seeing him. But I was excited for him too.
Notice in the picture I couldn't get a big smile,
he was a little nervous being at a new school and lots of new people. But the great thing about Jackson is how social he is and how much he loves to learn, So I know he was excited.
I have a couple weeks till Davis starts school. Lucky for me he is still in preschool, and still has time at home with mom. (Do you think I'm going to have issues when my children get old enough to leave home)

The Yard is Done!!!

We are so excited about how the yard turned out. The kids love it too! They were so funny when the grass went in, their faces were glued to the back door just watching the grass get put down. Ella made me laugh, she kept running to me and saying "we have grass mom!" Do you think they were sick of having a dirt yard?
